Metabolism is a feature that adds thirst, hunger, and love to your horse. These values reflect how well you take care of it.
As your horse progresses through the four bonding levels, its evolution depends on its overall condition. Good care results in positive evolution, while poor care can lead to negative effects.
There are specific thresholds for thirst and hunger that define their minimum and maximum values. Going above or below these limits applies different penalties. For example, overfeeding your horse can make it overweight and trigger penalties such as gallop restrictions.
To increase hunger and thirst values, you must interact with your horse:
Feed it using the target horse → feed prompt.
Feed it directly from your inventory by using a horse food item near your horse.
Let it drink through the Horse Interaction Menu → Metabolism Menu (key [4] by default).
The main goal is to keep your horse’s hunger and thirst as close to 100 as possible (by default).
The love value is directly influenced by hunger and thirst. For example, if you underfeed your horse, it will gradually love you less. Love increases with good care (feeding, patting, etc.). Depending on the hunger and thirst levels, the love value may be capped (as defined in the config).
